P. George Benson, PROFESSOR OF DECISION SCIENCES AND FORMER PRESIDENT OF THE COLLEGE OF CHARLESTON

P. George Benson was elected to our Board in April 2010. He is currently a Professor of Decision Sciences at the College of Charleston in Charleston, South Carolina. He served as the President of the College of Charleston from February 2007 through June 2014. From June 1998 until January 2007, he was Dean of the Terry College of Business at the University of Georgia. From July 1993 to June 1998, Mr. Benson served as Dean of the Rutgers Business School at Rutgers University and, prior to that, Mr. Benson was on the faculty of the Carlson School of Management at the University of Minnesota. Mr. Benson currently serves as Chair of the Board of Directors for the Foundation for the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award, was chairman of the board of overseers for the Baldrige Award Program from 2004 to 2007 and was a national judge for the Baldrige Award from 1997 to 2000. Mr. Benson also serves on the Board of Directors of AGCO Corporation and Crawford & Company. Mr. Benson received a B.S. degree in Mathematics from Bucknell University, completed graduate work in operations research in the Engineering School of New York University and earned a Ph.D. in business from the University of Florida.
